Spill It Sunday – I’m a Bookworm

Hey, hey, hey! It’s Sunday funday. ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Today marks the halfway point of my four day weekend. I’m happy to say that this weekend has been filled with going out of my usual comfort zone and hanging out with some new people. I’ve noticed that the more people I meet, the more nonawkward I am when talking to people for the first time. This is a big accomplishment for me since I usually stay home on the weekends. I’m becoming a beautiful [social] butterfly! (Please tell me someone got that reference..) Anywho, onto the topic of today’s post; books.

I’ve always been a book worm, so this post is perfect for me. Although it may not seem like it now with my hectic schedule, I love indulging into a good book. I can polish one off in a few hours. Once I start, I can’t stop. I always get lost into all of the new worlds and become attached to the characters. I laugh, I cry, I rejoice, I get angry. I’m preeeeeeetty serious about books as you can see. I have a little library in m my room. Am I the only one who marks up their books with pen/pencil/highlighter to emphasize memorable/inspiring quotes? o.o

1.ย Favourite novel of all time?

-I have a tie between two books.. Dreamland by Sarah Dessen and Vixen by Jillian Larkin. ย I got so emotionally attached to the characters in Dreamland. I kid you not, my parents couldn’t get me to put that book down. I have read it about 6 times already. I highly recommend it. Sarah Dessen is such a gifter rider. Vixen caught my attention, because I am all about that time period. Seriously, I love reading and learning about flappers. I don’t know why, but I find them fascinating. Probably because of their beauty and carefree nature.

2.ย Favourite genreย (e.g. Crime, Thriller, Biography, Fitness etc)

-Right now, I have been into fitness and nutrition books, but ultimately I would have to say either thrillers or crime. They always know how to suck a girl in. Unless I do read to the end, I usually think about so many different scenarios until I find out the true result.

3.ย Favourite childhood novel/Favourite teen novel?

-I read the entire Goosebumps series, Captain Underpants series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, the Magic Treehouse series, the Nancy Drew series, but they never really would be proclaimed as my favorite. I would probably have to say Harry Potter.

4.ย Favourite Series?

-I can’t just choose one.. I loved reading the Harry Potter series, Hunger Games series, the Crank series, the Pretty Little Liars series, the Flapper Girls series, etc. You can’t make me choose just one..

5.ย Which book would you hope future generations will continue to consider a classic?

-The Freedom Writers. I absolutely love it. It sends such a powerful message as well.

6.ย Worst novel to be written?

-Erm.. I haven’t really read any bad books, but I guess The Babysitters Club. It never really interested me..

Well, that’s a wrap for this post. I hope you are having/have an amazing day! โค

-What’s your favorite book?

-What’s your favorite book series?

-Are you a book worm?

-What book are you reading right now?

  1. Still jealous of this epic four day weekend…..care to share ๐Ÿ˜‰ Also, big props to you stepping out of your comfort zone- You’ll find the more you do it, the easier it becomes ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi 5 to hating the baby sitters club- even though I clearly didn’t read it (chick books ha!) my sister’s depiction of it was suffice! And Harry Potter- best. ever. ever.

  2. I would definitely say I’m a book worm too. My mum used to be a librarian so we always grew up with lots of books!

Lol but confession I used to love Babysitters Club books as well as Sweet Valley High books yep bring on the hate mail ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Books are the love of my life. I used to be OBSESSED with the Goosebumps series when I was younger — I think I still have my entire collection at home in my parents’ basement ๐Ÿ˜† And I’m not sure I could ever pick a favourite book… Life just wouldn’t feel complete without SO many of them.

  4. Ahh Magic Treehouse books were the bomb.com! I’m STILL reading Catching Fire. It’s only been 2 years (procrastination at best). I’m determined to finish it before seeing the movie though.
My favorite book: Anne of Green Gables or The Story of a Soul. I’m totally into those whimsical, diary-of-an-innocent-girl novels.

    • Catching Fire is a really good book! I’ve put a few books on the back burner, but I am making my way around to them. ๐Ÿ™‚
You’ll love the movie. I’m such of it!
I’ll have to check out those books. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Oh really??? You loved Dreamland? That is the only book of hers that I haven’t finished but Sarah Dessen is one of my favorite authors. It’s not that I didn’t like it, but the beginning kind of freaked me out. I will have to read it again and I’m sure I’ll love it.

    Harry Potter = YESSSS!!!

I still haven’t published my post for this week’s Spill It although it is basically done. Lol. I just finished The Help and absolutely loved it. Oh goodness I can’t even name all of the books I love. Vampire Academy, Divergent… Let’s see… If you like mysteries/crime, have you ever read The Count of Monte Cristo (a classic), A Face on the Milk Carton, Burning Up, the Heather Wells series, or a Spy in the House? Those are all pretty good.

I keep track of all of my “read” and “to-read” books on Goodreads. You can connect it to your facebook account and it’s just fantastic for keeping track ๐Ÿ™‚

    • At first I was a little skeptical about reading it, but it definitely gets better as the book progresses. ๐Ÿ™‚
I love both the book and movie for the Help. I love that time period, so that may be a huge factor on why I do. ๐Ÿ˜‰
I have read The Count of Monte Cristo and a Face on the Milk Carton. I’ll have to look into those other books.

Thank you for sharing the link!
