I have to say that this Spring Break has turned out pretty fun so far! I’ve gotten to spend some time with friends and new people. I have a whole week ahead full of good fun! Also, update on the test? I pretty much left the room brain dead afterwords. 3 hours of continual work does not fly with this girl. I think I did pretty good with three essays, but I did struggle with some of the multiple choice that went along with the passages. Good thing the essays count for most of the grade.. 😀 Anywho.. enough about school. Today’s topic is all about the protein for Arman’s Spill It Sunday.
1. What is your favourite protein source?
-I would have to probably say chicken because you can do so much with it and it does soak up a lot of flavor. For instance, you can grill it, bake it, roast it, put it in the crock pot, shred it, turn it into burger form or meatball form, etc. The possibilities are endless! I especially love when I put the chicken in the crock pot and soak it in salsa. If it had to be a meatless protein form I would have to say either quinoa or protein powder. I say protein powder for the flavors. They always add so much excitement to my pancakes and waffles. 😀 Quinoa is just naturally yummy to me. 🙂
-Disclaimer: I would choose peanut butter, but I already glorified it enough in my fats edition.
2. What is your favourite meat
(If you eat it)
-I’m guessing you already know from my answer above.. chicken.
3. Which protein receives unfair flack? Which protein is most overrated?
-I think read meat receives unfair flack. For so long people chose to limit it, because it was believed that is was bad for you. Well, it is full of iron and other benefits for the body. It’s good in moderation. Plus, it creates some pretty delicious foods like burgers, meatballs, etc. Gah.. makes me mouth water just thinking about it. 😀
-Most overrated protein? I don’t really know.. but I see that people usually opt for lean chicken when it comes to contest prep, cutting, and other choices. It is the seen as the ultimate protein source. I still love it though. 😉
4. Link up a favourite protein rich recipe (it can be your own or another bloggers!)
-I don’t usually follow recipes, but this goes along with the Salsa Chicken I mentioned before. (If you eat meat) You need to try this.. like now. Hey, it’s Sunday! So.. it’s like the perfect Sunday lazy dinner. 😉
5. What is YOUR perception of this macronutrient?
-I love having protein with my meals because it fills me up and I find it tasty. I like to lift weights and do pilates, so it helps with muscle growth which I want to achieve. Since I have upped my protein, I have leaned down, yet gained muscle and have grown stronger. I think it is beneficial for the body and is perfect, because you don’t even need to eat meat to get in a protein source. 🙂
6. What benefits does PROTEIN play in YOUR personal eating habits?
-Increased strength. Filling. Satisfying. Recovery. Kitchen experimentation and creativity.
Increased strength: Mentioned above.
Filling: Self explanatory.
Recovery: Increased food which includes protein.
Kitchen Experimentation and Creativity: New recipes to come up with and never getting bored with food.
I hope you have a fantastic Sunday! ❤
