First off, I want to thank you all so much for the kind words on Thursday. It really means a lot to me. I can’t say that things are getting better, but I am having a positive outlook on the situation and not letting it effect my happiness. You guys are amazing.
*Transition* I am especially excited about today’s Spill It Sunday, because I am the carb queen. 😉 I used to shy away from this delicious macro, but now I can’t get enough of it. I have really grown on how much I eat and the balance I have found with food. You can always find a carb source with my meals. Enough jibber jabber.. onto the questions! 😀
#Selfie (Anyone else hear that new song “Selfie?”)
1. What is your all time favourite carbohydrate based food/dish?
-Oatmeal, oatmeal, oatmeal. I have to have it every morning. If I don’t, then my day does not feel complete. You get me? I have grown a strong love for oatmeal. Especially when it is topped with oatmeal.. OH MY GOSH. My mouth is in heaven. You can add fruit to it, nuts, nut butter, veggies, eggs; a lot of things. Come on, it’s like a super food that’s beyond delicious. 😉
2. What is your favourite fruit?
-I had a hard time deciding on this one.. I love the sweetness from bananas but my stomach cannot digest them well, I love strawberries (considering they are natures candy), I love the juiciness of watermelon, but my heart goes out to apples. I put apples in my oatmeal, dip the in peanut butter, have them in pie. The list just goes on and on.
3. What is your favourite grain?
-This may come as a shocker but oats. I know.. I know.. contain the shock. 😉 I love oats because they are so versatile with oatmeal, pancakes, cookies, etc. You cannot go wrong with oats. 🙂
4. What is your favourite starchy vegetable?
-This also may come as a huge shocker.. sweet potatoes. You know you cannot get enough of them when I highlight my weekly eats. They’re so sweet.. so delicious.. Oh boy, now I want some.
5. Which carb receives unfair flack? Which carb is most overrated?
-I would have to say white bread, white flour, and white rice. Granted they don’t provide as many nutrients as whole wheat or brown rice, but they are a good carb source. They have become a real fear to the diet world. They are okay to eat. No food is forbidden. If you like it, eat it. I enjoy a good piece of french bread.
-Most overrated carb? Brown rice. Yes.. yes.. I do like it, but I mean it is kinda bland unless you add flavor to it. It provides a lot of nutrients, but it is really bland..

7. What is YOUR perception of this macronutrient?
-I LOVE CARBS. I used to shy away from them in the beginning of my eating disorders. I was brainwashed into thinking they would make me fat. That was a no no. Over time, I learned the benefits of carbs and all of their glory. Energy.. taste.. fulfillment. They are just a great macro that I cannot get enough of. Like I said above, you can find a carb source in every meal and snack I eat. I am so happy I got over that “fear.” Amiright?
