The Perfect Weekend

You know those weekends that were just the ones you need? Those ones where you can say that it was perfect without a doubt? That was this past weekend for me. You know how I mentioned that my friend from Texas was coming to visit me? Well, he came and we spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday together.

Friday:

After I came home from school, I got ready a bit and he came around 3:20. I cannot put into words how happy I was.. how speechless I was. I was close to tears as I ran into his arms for a hug. He met my dad and they talked for a bit. We didn’t really know what to do, because I knew he was tired from the drive and it was hot out. We decided to go watch some tv. In the car, he held my hand and we were just smiling at each other nonstop. We watched tv for a bit, talked and laughed a lot, and then decided to get some In-N-Out for dinner since he is CA born. You know what made me really happy? He bought me Diet Snapple Peach Tea. You guys.. you know my obsession with it.

Afterwards, we decided to go see Captain America 2. AMAZING MOVIE. If you haven’t seen it yet, go do it. Like now. 😀 Afterwards, he took me home around 11.

Saturday:

I had to start my day off going to the dentist. *le sigh..* I am never a fan of the dentist. I mean, who is? My appointment went until 11, and then I got some Dutch Bros coffee afterwards. It was my first time trying. Such good coffee.

I then came home, got ready, and he then he took me to the zoo and aquarium. I LOVE the zoo and aquarium. Seriously, my face lit up with joy once he told me we were going. Before we left, he met my mom and sister. We were hungry once we got there, so we decided to go to Dilion’s BBQ. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with a side of asparagus (yum) and he had a pulled chicken sandwich with mashed potatoes and mac n’ cheese.

After, we went on our journey through the aquarium and the zoo. I saw a baby leopard and a sleeping baby panther. I died of pure cuteness. I also got to pet a giraffe! *happy dance*  Afterwards, we went to the hotel to go watch some movies and relax.

aa aaa aaaa aaaaa aaaaaa aaaaaaa

Around 9, we got hungry and decided to eat at Red Lobster. I got him to eat lobster for the first time, haha. I had the salmon with fresh veggies while he had shrimp alfredo. We also had a strawberry shortcake in a jar afterwards.

My mouth was watering. We finished around 10:30 and then cuddled while watching some movies until about 1. He then took me home and I fell asleep around 2 a.m.

Sunday:

I woke up around 8:30 and the moved some things to the new house. My room was being painted at the time, so I came back and decided to get ready. He picked me up around 1 pm and we headed off to lunch at BJ’s. We started off with avocado spring rolls. From a previous post, you may remember that Grilled Chicken Wrap I mentioned earlier.I had that while he had alfredo. That boy loves his pasta.

I also had my first pazooki. Of course I had to have the peanut butter one. 😉 SO DELICIOUS. SO SOFT. SO WARM. If you have never had one, you need to get one!

Pizookie

After lunch, we went to the movies to go see Divergent. FINALLY. That movie was amazing. I can’t wait to dive into the other two books. 😀 After the movie, we picked up some Jamba Juice and headed to go relax. We both watched Duck Dynasty for the first time. That show is pretty hilarious! At about 9, we went to Chili’s. I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas while he ordered (you guessed it) grilled chicken alfredo pasta.

We finished around 10, and then headed to my house. We watched some Netflix and cuddled. Around 12, I had to say goodbye to him.

Honestly, that was the hardest goodbye I had to say to him. He’s being stationed to Fort Knox until either August or November. I won’t be able to see him until then. I’m not going to lie, I did cry as we said goodbye and until I fell asleep. All throughout Monday, I was tearing up at the thought of him leaving. He honestly means so much to me. He holds a big place in my heart. I cannot wait until the day I get to see him again.

If I could rewind the weekend, I would in a heart beat.

  1. YAY! So glad to hear you had a wonderful time. He sounds like a great guy and I think he liiiiikkkeeesssssss youuuuuuu ;). And *squeal*!! You got to pet a giraffe?! I’m so jealous! I got to feed one, but never touched it. Unless you count it licking my hand sorta, but whatever, I’ll take what I can get ;).

Your weekend was jammed packed in the best possible way and I’m seriously drooling over all that food!

  2. Awww how sweet Natalie! I agree with Christine… he’s into you 😉 Glad you enjoyed Divergent. I personally am going to wait a few months until I “forget” the book to make the movie more exciting! And ohmygoshh… I need a pizookie (is this like a deep dish cookie pizza?) Whatever it is, it needs to get in my belly, stat!

  3. Aww hun your weekend sounds incredible, but I know exactly how you feel. Joe was in the army until march of 2013 and was stationed 9 hours away from me. We met right before he left for Afghanistan in 2010, kept in touch while he was gone, and the rest is history. Long distance in the military is really tough, and saying goodbye always involved tears and sadness. If you ever want to chat about it, my email is chelsel28@gmail.com. Always here ❤
